A simple first message
“Hello Cristiano, I have a dinner in London next month and would like to attend with a companion. Could we talk?” You can add the approximate duration and whether it is a gathering with friends or an evening for two.
If your ex will be there, tell me. It helps us understand the setting; it does not mean we can guarantee jealousy. A short call can help us discover whether conversation feels easy before making arrangements.
Introductions, gestures and photographs
We agree on how you would like to introduce me and what feels natural. Taking an arm, dancing or sitting close are things to discuss, never requirements. You can change your mind during the evening.
A photograph deserves its own question: would you like one, and where might it be shared? Privacy includes what happens to memories as well as what we say to other people.
Clear arrangements, room for spontaneity
We discuss the place, time, duration and any travel. Fees and travel expenses are agreed before confirmation, so they are not a surprise afterwards. An initial enquiry is not a booking.
We can start by meeting in a public place. Extra time is something we both agree to, not an assumption. Once the practical details are clear, there is more room to enjoy the conversation.
