Before the curtain, a conversation
You do not need to know the libretto or prove that you are an expert. Tell me which performance interests you and what kind of company would feel right. We might meet somewhere public first, have a drink and see whether conversation comes easily. If you would prefer a call before agreeing to anything, that is a good way to begin.
Perhaps you imagine dressing up, perhaps a quiet dinner, or perhaps simply sitting beside someone during the performance. You need not explain your whole life in the first message. One honest idea is enough.
Music, then dinner with room to talk
A performance can give us something to talk about without asking us to share the same opinion. You might love a voice or be puzzled by a scene. At dinner I would want to hear your impression before offering mine. A comfortable pause after the music can be part of the evening too.
We can eat before or after, depending on the performance time and how long you would like to spend together. We choose somewhere convenient for you instead of rushing across the city. We check the official programme, tickets and availability before making plans.
Making your Zurich evening possible
I live in Spain, not Zurich. Tell me the date, your area and whether you are thinking of the opera, dinner or both. I will check whether I can travel. Our first conversation is a way to see if we feel at ease together; it is not a booking.
Before confirming, we agree the time together, my fee, travel, any accommodation and other expenses, as well as who arranges and pays for tickets and dinner. You could write: “I’ll be in Zurich for a performance and would enjoy sharing it, then having dinner together. Could we speak first?”
If a Zurich performance is on your mind, tell me what you would like the evening to feel like.
